When you think of a broken plate, you might also be thinking that something has gone wrong.
Maybe it’s a sign from the universe.
However, there are many interpretations of a broken plate, and not all of them are negative! I got really curious about this recently when I had a streak of breaking way too many plates.
I thought it might just be bad luck, but I wanted to be sure. What I found out was pretty incredible!
1) A new beginning
If you break a plate (or something else that serves a similar purpose, like a cup or bowl), it can mean that you are welcoming a new beginning in your life.
It can be a really good omen. It suggests that you are ready for a change and that you will get a fresh start.
It can also mean that you are releasing the past (even if it’s just letting go of an old plate).
If you start to break a lot of plates when you are about to start a new project, don’t worry too much about it.
It can be a sign that it’s time to let go of the old and welcome the new.
If you are expecting a child, breaking a dish can be a good omen, too. It can mean that your child is going to be really special and that they bring new life into your family.
You see, in that case, breaking a plate is simply a sign of a new beginning, which is always good.
Change is an opportunity for growth.
Maybe you are about to make a big change in your life. Maybe you are about to welcome a new child into the family.
Whatever the reason, breaking a plate is not necessarily bad luck. It can be good luck!
2) Something is coming to an end
If you break a plate in a dream, or if someone else breaks a plate in your presence, it could be a sign that something in your life is ending.
It can also be a sign that a relationship is coming to an end.
If you break a plate when you are thinking about your relationship, it can be a sign that you will break up soon.
If you break a plate in a state of anger, it can mean that you are taking out your frustrations on something that has no control over what’s happening in your life.
It can be a sign that you are taking your anger out on yourself, too, since you can’t control your emotions.
Simply put, if you break a plate when you are happy, it can mean that you are celebrating the end of something in your life.
Sometimes, you don’t know what is coming to an end, but you know that something good is ending soon. When this happens, you might subconsciously break a plate to celebrate.
I know, this can be really sad, but endings are necessary in order to have new beginnings and to feel better about your life.
3) You are breaking free from dependence on something
If you break a plate, it can mean that you are letting go of an old habit, or something that holds you back.
It can be a sign that you are ready to let go of something that you depend on too much. It can be a relationship, a bad habit like smoking, or an addiction.
If you break a plate while thinking about a relationship you are in, it can mean that you are ready to move on.
The relationship might be holding you back, and the plate breaking might be a sign that you want to break free from it.
But it can also be your dependence on substances, or even food, to cope with emotions.
You might be finally learning to break free from that dependence and move on with your life.
I learned that from a gifted advisor at Psychic Source. I went to them after being a bit worried about the plates I kept breaking.
The good news?
They immediately reassured me that this was not necessarily a bad omen, but a sign that something good was about to happen in my life.
And the best news?
They told me exactly what to make of this and how to use this experience to move forward in my life.
We identified together what I might be dependent on and we made sure that I moved on from it.
If you are feeling stuck in your life or could use some advice, I can’t recommend them enough.
And the best part is, it’s online, so you can do it from the comfort of your own home!

What habit are you currently engaging in that you know is not serving your highest purpose?
What habit are you currently engaging in that you know is not ultimately good for you?
Identify the habit first, and then work on breaking it.
What are you going to do about it?
Are you going to take steps toward breaking that habit? Are you ready to break this habit once and for all?
Breaking a habit doesn’t have to be difficult.
Oftentimes, it’s all about finding your inner purpose first, and realizing that you deserve better than to keep this bad habit.
I learned this from the shaman Rudà Iandê. In his excellent free video, he showed me how to tap into my fullest potential and live according to my purpose.
And the best part?
Once I did that, breaking bad habits felt really easy!
That’s why I’m telling you about this – maybe the video will help you as much as it helped me!

If you break a plate when you are with your partner, it can be a sign that you are unhappy with your relationship and that you are ready to end it.
You see, ending a relationship is always really sad.
Usually, we don’t want to do that because we are comfortable, and we don’t want to end something that is comfortable.
But when we are not happy, it’s time to let go and move on.
If you have been thinking about breaking up with your partner, but haven’t done it yet, this sign can be a good indicator of what you need to do.
Don’t wait until something bad happens. End the relationship now so that you can both move on.
Your future self will thank you for that.
8) You are challenging your own beliefs
If you break a plate, it can be a sign that you are challenging your own beliefs.
It can be a sign that you are trying to figure out what your beliefs are. It’s a good sign since almost all people change their beliefs as they get older.

Take some time and reflect on what it is you truly believe in. Ask yourself what your core values are.
Maybe you need to change your beliefs. Or maybe you need to change how you act in accordance with your beliefs.
Either way, the more clarity you have about who you are and what your true values are, the better off you’ll be.
9) A sign of fertility
